Day 283 of 365: I love a sunburnt country, still.

Australia Day, 2012 (well, here in Ohio it is, even if it's the day after in Perth by now).

I originally planned on taking the day off work to celebrate, but work got in the way.

So, after escaping the office, scoffing down dinner, doing my time at the Y, and wrapping up this week's homework writing, I'm enjoying a glass of Petite Petit and reflecting on the wonderful country I sometimes call home.

A few gems today:
  1. Text messages from my darling friend Sam who sang Advance Australia Fair (with old lady vibrato and all), Waltzing Matilda, and Click Go The Shears for us Aussie girls in the Dayton area.
  2. Good vibes from several colleagues today, reminding me that while I miss Australia, I'm lucky to be surrounded by some amazing people here, making this "home" too.
  3. A lovely email with photos from my Aunt & Uncle in Gidgegannup, Western Australia--they live the ultimate Aussie lifestyle, in my opinion. So, today's photo(s) of the day, come from them. Thank you for sharing!
If you don't know what this is, ... forget it.
